I’m an Emmy and VES award winning visual effects artist with over 15 years of film, television and commercial experience.

I grew up on a horse farm in East Texas, where we raised Arabians, Saddlebreds and National Show Horses, frequently showing them across the country, where I won a pair of Reserve National Championships (2nd place), and a handful of top 5 and top 10 finishes across multiple disciplines.
I started making movies in high school and ultimately landed at The University of Texas where I graduated with a B.S. in Radio-Television-Film. After college, I worked in corporate and industrial video production in Austin, Texas before leaving the production world for post. I jumped into the world of visual effects and compositing after getting hired by a visual effects shop in Louisiana. I then bounced to New York City where I won an Emmy and VES for my work on season 2 of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire. After a few years in NYC, I had the opportunity to transfer offices to sunny Los Angeles. My last four years have been spent at Steelhead, the production and post arm of Deutsch. I was a VP and director, running the visual effects group and building out their post production workflow as the department expanded from a handful of closets inside Deutsch to a stand-alone, bespoke 48,000 sqft production studio.
Beyond post production, I’m a welder, amateur furniture maker, arduino tinkerer, mechanic, and mountain biker (I build my own wheels). I’m always looking to get my hands dirty, and I love learning new things, from how to properly joint and glue up lumber, to deploying virtual machines in the cloud.
You can see me in action on my blog, where I’m going to attempt to keep a log of all my profession and personal projects of note.
